Search terms

Just a random little update, as I have had a few unusual search terms find my blog lately (plus some more normal ones) and thought I would reply to them, even though the searchers probably won't see it....

Random search term of the month goes to 'tiger balm for bulimia'. Yes. Not got a fucking clue what you were looking for. Am unsure of the correlation between a heat muscle rub and bulimia. I racked my brains, but couldn't think of any explanation. If anyone has any interesting suggestions as to what this person may have been thinking, please leave a comment. The more obscure your suggestion the more points you get.

Another I quite liked was 'what is a carpusel in the lower back'. I have no idea. Does a carpusel exist? When I googled it it asked if I meant Carousel, which is obviously how they ended up on my blog, as Carousel + back must be mentioned lots on my blog, but I don't know what a carpusel is if it exists, and I can't really see anyone having a carousel in their lower back....

Still on the medical front we had 'is it ok to have the flu jab when you have a cold'. Yes, it is, as long as you aren't feeling seriously ill with it. I know this, as my mum asked the nurse when she had hers. I just assumed it would be ok and didn't bother asking because of the nurse scaring me.

Then was was 'days of me being erased'. Don't know what they were looking for, but if they were feeling like they wanted to be erased then I can certainly relate. Otherwise, not sure.

My least favourite was '"weight gain" "leotard" "fatter"'. Yes. It is really shit. I feel for you. Gaining weight and then having to put on a leotard is hideous. It was my least favourite just because I know what a horrible sensation that is. Leotards are so unforgiving. Even black ones.

And there endeth the search terms update. Might do it again sometime if I have any more interesting search terms. Please leave any comments on 'tiger balm for bulimia' if you can think of an explanation. I am genuinely quite curious.

  1. Many things have been suggested to me in order to help me recover from my ED. Never tiger balm. I'm just as clueless as you.

Also, how can you see the search terms that people use to find your blog?

    Wishing you well,

  2. If you go to your Dashboard, and click on Stats, then Traffic Sources, then google searches are at the bottom - it says Search Keywords. You can look at day/week/month/all time. x

  3. Looking at search terms are always interesting, and at times amusing. Tiger balm for bulimia...hmm.... Tiger balm is for sore muscles? Maybe...they have sore stomach muscles from throwing up and/or a sore back from bending down to throw up, and so they want to use tiger balm? I dunno, just making things up...

    Take care,
    Cassie x

  5. Wow, I never knew about the stats thingy, I always used to use sitemeter =D

#crazytigerbalmsuggestion: does it make you vom if you eat it? Bet someone heard that it does and was googling... yeah I know, I get special prize for most cynical suggestion ;)

  6. I use sitemeter as well for count, as I found it clearer, but the stats are good for looking at search terms.

And Ali, that was what I was wondering that with the tiger balm, but ewwww!

  7. Well, when I was a kid my mum used to feed me Vaseline from a spoon if I had a sore throat and it was always an instant vom moment [although I gotta give her credit, it worked wonders for sore throats]. So methinks it's the same principle... tiger balm is kinda vaselineish innit? But yeah, talk about sucker for punishment! Definitely not in my list of top ten ways to spend a Sunday afternoon :P
